Teeth Whitening

There is nothing more appealing than a healthy, bright smile. It can take years off of your appearance, give you added confidence, and give you an overall attractive glow. Audubon Dental Center offers advanced teeth whitening solutions that are not only fast, comfortable, and convenient, they deliver highly effective, beautiful results!

What is Laser Teeth Whitening?

If your teeth are discolored, you’ve probably tried over-the-counter tooth bleaching products or at-home teeth whitening treatments. While these solutions might offer some mild and temporary brightening, none have been proven as effective as professional laser teeth whitening.

Laser teeth whitening is a high-impact cosmetic dental treatment, designed to target tooth discolorations quickly and efficiently. Zoom Whitening is an in-office procedure that begins by applying potent hydrogen peroxide gel to the site, and then utilizing an LED accelerator light to cause the agent to penetrate the tooth enamel and dentin, breaking up external stains and discoloration, and lightening the tooth up to eight shades.

During the whitening procedure, we offer several services designed to make the process more pleasant, including music, eye masks, or earplugs to drown out ambient sounds.

Zoom Teeth Whitening can produce flawlessly white, bright, and radiant teeth in a single application. The process is painless, and typically completed in under an hour!

Candidates for Teeth Whitening

Teeth that have been discolored due to smoking or the regular consumption of coffee or tea might be candidates for teeth whitening. Furthermore, mild but consistent darkening resulting from the natural aging process can be effectively treated. Factors that can contribute to teeth whitening candidacy are:

  • Age: Teeth whitening is recommended for patients 18 and older.
  • Tooth sensitivity and allergies: Patients with highly sensitive teeth and gums, or who have medical allergies to peroxide are not good candidates.
  • Post-treatment smoking: Current, regular smokers must cease smoking post-procedure in order to maintain results.
  • Gum and tooth health: Patients with gum disease, tooth decay, or discoloration due to damaged/worn enamel are not good candidates for teeth whitening.
  • Crowns/tooth caps at site: Crowns, bridges, and veneers are not effected by the tooth whitening process.

Should teeth whitening prove to not be a reasonable option, our team can offer numerous effective alternatives, including veneers, bridge replacements, crowns (tooth caps), porcelain restorations, and more.

At Audubon Dental Center, we will provide you with a thorough assessment to determine the right solutions for you and your lifestyle. If it is determined that you are not a good candidate for teeth whitening, our team of professionals will provide you with other effective aesthetic dentistry options that will deliver spectacular results! We also offer general dentistry services such as comprehensive dental exams and dental cleaning.
